Len, had a look about for tickets and viagogo do sell them but I couldn't see any listed yet for that game. had a read on another site that some of the touts handle dodgy tickets and you can get ripped off. they do a tour package where you get shown round the ground and get a VIP seat (?) but that did look a bit expensive. they're my argie team and I'd always love to go to that stadium, its a great atmosphere

Miike

Yeah I've investigated that. The season resumes on the 28th. Boca v COLON *snigger* is the only option.

Make sure you go to Ilha Grande while you're in Brazil.

We stayed in the Pousada Beira Mar....short stroll from the ferry, nice little rooms, great breakfasts, decent price.

Some really cool little restaurants right on the beach too.

It's a couple of hours by bus from Rio and maybe 90 minutes on a ferry.

Lopes Mendes Beach is beautiful.

Trust me, it's worth the trip.

Obviously try and take in a game at the Maracana if you can too, gets pretty rowdy if you get a good game.

Copacabana and Ipanema are both pretty decent, although a lot more beggars etc at Copacabana. Ipanema is a bit more upmarket, and consequently more expensive for accommodation and meals etc.

Make sure you get up to Sugarloaf and ride the cable car, and obviously you'll have to visit Christ the Redeemer.

Eat as much street food as you can - Pão de queijo is my personal favourite, and acai smoothies are all over the place and very refreshing.

Feijoada is really tasty too.

Everyone makes good caipirinhas and Antarctica should be your lager of choice.

Don't go flashing your cash, mobile phone, or sovereigns around or they'll be gone before you know it.

Don't fuck around with the police, or go into the favelas alone - there are tours you can do if you really want to have a nosey.

Go to Lapa for some decent nightlife....basically a big street party, with bars and nightclubs and bands playing all over the place.

Don't buy drugs. Don't even take drugs.

Most of the people you'll meet are awesome though, but they WILL take you for a ride if you don't keep your wits about you, just like anywhere.

I'd live in Brazil happily though
